Kaitlin Jean Challis

Kaitlin Jean Challis, born August 4, 1985, in Burbank, California, passed away in San Diego, CA on April 9, 2024, from natural causes.

A well respected, successful business-woman with an accomplished career in management for a global medical equipment company since graduating from San Diego State University in 2007.

Kaitlin was an ardent animal lover who also had a passion for music, excelled as an athlete in high school basketball and volleyball, and, along with her father, considered herself the Pittsburgh Steelers #1 fan. 

Kaitlin’s kindness, effortless charm, infectious sense of humor, and warm personality never failed to endear her to anyone who was fortunate enough to have Kaitlin cross their path. 

Kaitlin’s passing was preceded by her mother, Patty Gayle Hatton of Conway, PA., her cousin John Scott Challis, Jr., of Freedom, PA, her uncle Edward Challis of Beaver, PA. and her godmother, Katherine Joy Gavert, of Beaver, PA. 

Kaitlin is survived by her father, Tom Challis of Los Angeles, CA., her Uncle, Scott Challis of Freedom, PA, and her Aunts Leanne Challis and Karen Mihalic of Beaver, PA, her Cousins Lauren Mihalic-Bandy of Vinton, PA and Alexis Malovitch of Aliquippa, PA., her long time companion Billy Norris of San Diego, CA, and all of her adoring pets. 

A celebration of life for Kaitlin will be held by family and friends in Los Angeles, CA and San Diego, CA. 

In lieu of flowers, Kaitlin would appreciate a donation to the animal shelter below in her name.
