Diamonds from Ashes & Hair

A Remarkable Memorial

Eterneva offers a beautiful, mobile memorial combined with a 7-10 month grief journey. Eterneva celebrates remarkable people by turning their hair, or cremated remains, into diamonds through a storytelling journey as special as the loved one and the diamond itself.

Design a Diamond that uniquely tells your loved one’s story. Choose a color that reminds you of their eyes or that represents their one-in-a-million personality. As the final touch, we’ll engrave their name on the Diamond’s edge.

How it Works

The memorial diamond, grown from the your loved one’s hair or cremated remains, takes 7-10 months to grow. Throughout that time, Eterneva sends customized photos, videos and updates of the entire process - showing where your loved one is and including you in every step of this remarkable transformation.

The goal is to create a beautiful, mobile memorial that helps your loved one’s legacy live on, and helps those grieving tell stories, start legacy projects, and honor their loved one in the next chapters of their lives.

Why a Memorial Diamond

Before Eterneva, Garrett & Adelle were starting a business in the lab-grown diamond space, when Adelle lost her close friend & mentor, Tracey Kaufman, to cancer.

She quickly learned there are not a lot of good memorial options when you lose someone special. She wanted to give people a better way to memorialize their loved ones and celebrate their lives. Her and Garrett pivoted to creating real diamonds from the carbon in cremated remains, and Eterneva was born.

  • How much ashes or hair is needed to grow a memorial diamond?

Green burial, or similarly natural burial, refers to the practice of burying an unembalmed body in a designated green burial cemetery. This process includes a simple casket or shroud. However, Terramation takes place in a closed vessel. Technically, it is not a type of burial because the body is never placed in the ground. The Terramation process takes about 60 days compared to green burial.

  • How much does it cost to turn ashes into a diamond?

The cost for turning ashes into diamonds varies based on the carat size and diamond color you want. Cost begins at $2,999 for a .1 carat blue, yellow or colorless diamond. Cost goes up based on the amount of time the diamond is in the machine since we can only grow one diamond at a time. Larger carat sizes must be in the machine longer, and colors outside of yellow, blue or colorless must go through an additional coloration process. Larger diamonds are also the most difficult to grow so the pricing reflects the complexity of hand-crafting a large diamond. These factors are what makes the price increase. Lab grown diamonds, for instance, are grown in batches, and do not have to go through an additional ashes or hair purification process prior to growth. This makes the memorial diamond process much more complex, lengthy, and intensive. This is why we have also designed a Grief Wellness journey throughout the 7-10 months it takes to grow your memorial diamond. During this time, you’ll receive regular updates from our team showing you where your loved one is in the process.

  • Are Eterneva diamonds real?

Absolutely! Eterneva diamonds are real diamonds. Diamonds are composed of carbon, and there is carbon in cremated remains. Like mined diamonds, we also grade and certify Eterneva diamonds to prove authenticity. We guarantee your diamond will meet the minimum carat weight you ordered and be free of visible inclusions. If we don’t meet these standards, we’ll grow you an additional diamond to ensure we do!
